Tips for Spot Treating Your Scrubs

When you’re on the go all the time (and we know you are!), it’s difficult to stop and treat scrub stains and accidents! That’s why  Blue Sky Co. has the best advice for spot treating your scrubs in a hurry. Follow these tips and you’re sure to succeed in stain removal! We wish you the best of luck!

Sweat Stains

Those pesky sweat stains aren’t caused by your sweat; they’re caused by antiperspirants and your body! Nonetheless, they sure are a pain! To remove sweat stains from your bright, white lab cat or your vibrant scrubs, start by soaking the article of clothing in a bowl filled with 1 C of white vinegar, and 2 C of warm water. After soaking for 20 minutes, mix together ½ C baking soda, 1 tbsp of salt, and 1 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide. After you’ve wrung the clothing damp, let the paste sit on the stains for another 20 minutes. Then launder as normal!

Blood Stains

First, wet the stain with cold water. You can run the clothing under a faucet to be efficient! Next, apply soap to the stain. You can use regular hand soap in the hospital bathroom! Lather the soap gently into the stain with a sponge, and the rinse the area with cold water. Viola!

Food Stains

First, rinse off any remaining food particles. Then apply a mild detergent to the area, gently rubbing it in. When finished, apply a stain stick (we always suggest keeping one of these handy), and launder as normal! The stain should come right out!

These are the most common of stains you’ll find on your scrubs. We hope this spot treatment guide has been helpful! And as always, log online today to view our magnificent collection of scrubwear; our scrubs are so comfortable and luxurious, that you’ll want to wear them even after work!
