November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month: Blue Sky Scrubs

One of the hardest parts about being a part of people's’ lives is watching their loved ones mentally leave them before they physically leave them. November is national Alzheimer's awareness month, and so here at Blue Sky we’d like to take a moment to highlight how you can get involved and raise awareness for the disease that has plagued more than the 5.4 million families this year.

If you’re looking to get involved this month, Austin has tons of ways to help raise awareness for Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer’s Texas “provides free information, assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals.” On November 17 the organization is hosting The Music & Memories Gala and Benefit Concert to raise awareness and funds to help support the organization and the families they aid. This black tie event will be held at the Moody theatre and is sure to be an amazing time. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at https://musicandmemories.com/.

The Alzheimer's Association is another great way to get information, stay up-to-date on news about the disease, and seek support for both you and for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. The Central Texas chapter offers groups, volunteer opportunities, and a 24/7 helpline for anyone facing the disease, whether personally or as a caregiver.

While our goal here at Blue Sky is to provide comfortable, quality scrubs and medical wear, we also want to raise awareness for the reasons behind the scrubs. The people who work day in and day out to make the world a little brighter, a little happier, and a little healthier.
