If You See This, It's Time To Get A New Scrubs Lab Coat
Posted by Amy on 7th Jan 2023
High quality lab coats can last you quite a while, but even the best things have to come to an end eventually. So how will you know when it's time to throw out that old coat and get yourself a new one? Let’s talk about three telltale signs that you need a new lab coat for your nursing scrubs.
First up, you can’t wear a lab coat into work and hope to look professional if it has obvious tearing at the seams. After excessive daily use the seams can rip and tear open easily, and if that happens, you’ll probably want to think about replacing your lab coat soon! If you want to maintain a professional appearance in the workplace, having a nice, intact lab coat is a good idea.
Stains That Won’t Go Away
All clothes, from regular t-shirts to the highest quality medical scrubs, are bound to have things spilled on them and get stains at some point. One especially common type of stain on lab coats is yellow armpit stains that appear over time due to sweating through the white coat. If you have stains like this on your lab coat, and they no longer come out with cleaning, it's time to dump that old coat and get yourself a fresh, clean lab coat!
The Wrong Size
If you put on your lab coat and it just doesn't seem to fit right, it could be a sign that you need a new one. Move around while looking in the mirror as well, pay attention to how you look and how you feel as you move in the coat. If it isn’t comfortable or flattering, why keep it? And if you’ve had it for a long time, it might have even shrunk in the dryer. Either way, don’t hold on to a lab coat that doesn’t fit right.
