How To Keep Your Scrubs, Surgical Caps & Accessories In Great Shape
Posted by Amy on 28th Oct 2022
Keeping your scrubs in good shape is key to looking and performing your best at work. There’s no shortage of advice out there, including from us here at Blue Sky Scrubs, about the best practices to maintain your scrubs. But what about your favorite scrubs accessories? Let’s talk about how you can help keep scrub hats, compression socks and scarves in excellent condition. And if you’ve never purchased or seen Blue Sky’s accessories before, we’re happy to introduce some of them to you here, along with some great tips for maintenance.
Maintaining Your Scrub Caps
Let’s start with something extremely practical and necessary in many situations; scrub caps. You may need to wear a scrub cap at certain times on the job, or maybe you just prefer the way it looks. We also offer disposable scrub hats, but if you don’t want to be constantly throwing away and putting on new scrub caps, then our washable ones are the way to go. Since all of our scrubs are made with 100% cotton, they can easily go through a washing machine. Just make sure to use cold water and tumble dry on low heat. But for the absolute best outcome, we suggest washing scrub caps by hand with cold water.
Proper Compression Sock Cleaning
Do your feet get cold at work? Even with all the moving around, some hospitals are just too chilly and there's no avoiding it. Our compression socks are perfect for keeping your feet warm, and keeping you from having leg and back pain after a long shift. For the best care, machine or hand wash cold. Don’t use a machine dryer, as the elasticity of the compression socks will be compromised. Hang them up or lay them flat to allow them to dry.
Washing And Drying Your Scarves
Our scarves are another great way to beat the cold, and they come in all kinds of gorgeous colors and patterns! For the best care, machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle or hand wash with cold water and mild soap. Tumble dry your scarves on low heat for the best outcome.
