Choosing the Perfect Lab Coat
Posted by Amy on 22nd Sep 2016
When working in either a laboratory or medical setting, a lab coat is one of the most essential things you’ll bring with you! The lab coat serves as a protective barrier between your body and the outside environment. Its first and foremost responsibility is to shield your skin and body from chemicals, spills, debris, and other dangerous or messy materials. You know you need a high quality lab coat or scrubs that are both professional and flexible, but there are so many brands on the market these days; how do you know exactly what you need?
Let us help you determine what type of lab coat would be the most beneficial to you! At Blue Sky Scrubs, we provide the highest quality medical attire to help you perform with confidence and style.
Protection and Stain Resistance
You can never be certain of what will happen on the clock, so it’s best to always be prepared, right? You may consider finding a lab coat that is flame resistant, as well as stain resistant. In addition to this, be sure your coat provides enough extra room in case you need to catch a fall, or clean up after a spill.
Pockets and Fasteners
Be thorough! Examine the pockets and fasteners on each coat you take interest in. If wearing or removing your lab coat is going to require the use of both of your hands, you may want to reconsider. Sometimes menial tasks can cause needless frustration, and this won’t be pretty during a time crunch!
Don’t forget to check the pockets. Make sure they’re adequate for holding pens, smartphones, notepads, etc.
We probably don’t have to tell you twice, but lastly, don’t waste money on a lab coat that you won’t enjoy wearing. Shop around until you find the protection, comfort, and durability that you desire in a coat. We believe you’ll find all of that and more in our line of designer medical attire.
