When you first purchase a new set of scrubs, you’re absolutely fascinated with its bright, vibrant colors (if they’re purchased from Blue Sky Co., of course). Naturally, you want to go to work looking that sharp for many shifts to come, so you want those colors to last. We get it! So here are three simple rules to keep vibrant colors from fading!

Pre-Wash New Scrubs

Always give your brand new scrubs a thorough pre-washing! This really helps the colors to set in and stay in. And it also gives you a chance to sanitize and soften your scrubs before you wear them to work! Add in ½ C of cleaning white vinegar to the load and give your scrubs plenty of water to move around in!

Line Dry Your Scrubs

After you’ve finished pre-washing your scrubs, its best to line dry them! Be cautionary when drying your scrubs in the dryer, as the heat can cause damage to the fabrics (discoloration, fading, wear and tear). If your scrubs are stiff after line drying them, toss them in the dryer for about 15 minutes on a low setting. That should help!

Save Scrubs for Work

When it comes to protecting your scrubs, you’ve got to do it from all angles. From washing, to drying, to wearing, you have to make sure you’re helping them last their longest.
