How To Get Into The Nursing Field Quickly
A severe demand for new nurses in the medical field has now made it possible for non-nurses to become a registered nurse (RN) in as little time as a year. Today, several universities and colleges are also offering
a seven-month accelerated nursing degree program. In fact, people with
a bachelor’s degree or, a non-nurse holder of a bachelor’s degree or
a higher degree can complete the required BSN degree to be able to
take the NCLEX-RN exam and get the RN license in just 12 short months.
So you’re probably asking yourself how it is possible to get licensed in such a short period of time. The answer is in the bachelor’s degree that you already hold. The accelerated nursing degree program builds on this degree and mandates that the candidate has taken the required science courses at the undergraduate level. The program then builds on this knowledge with general nursing courses and the all-important hands-on training in a clinical setting.
There are many accelerated programs available around the country. While they all provide top-level training and an accelerated degree, they do vary somewhat in the types of programs they offer. To follow is a brief description of some of the more popular accelerated programs around the country.
